New Directions for Women provides extraordinary care in a phenomenal environment. We are a private, exclusively female program with affordable private pay options. We contract with many providers and for out of network providers we accept PPO and other insurances. We also accept in-network and out-of-network health insurance benefits that can cover much of the addiction treatment cost. However, we do not accept Medicare or Medicaid.
We provide private pay and private insurance options, and some partial scholarships. Partial scholarships are provided on an as-needed basis and only for women who are committed spiritually, emotionally, financially, and clinically to our recommendations and achieving life-long sustained recovery. We know that when intensity of treatment matches intensity of illness life long recovery is achieved. The optimum care may go beyond what your benefits may cover. Therefore, our team works hard with insurance companies on behalf of our patients to find the best payment solution. Most families choose to utilize their private insurance and their own financial resources for the balance of their loved one’s care in order to receive the intensity and duration of care clinically needed to achieve sustained responsible recovery for this chronic and incurable disease. We bill insurance companies directly and for those that privately pay, we are happy to provide courtesy insurance billing. We accept cash, wire transfer, most major credit cards, and personal checks to pay for your treatment investment.
Some women entering our facility start by utilizing their private heath insurance for the initial part of their treatment services, followed by private payment, and sometimes followed by partial scholarship in order to meet the recommended stay by our treatment team. New Directions for Women encourages patients and their loved ones to consider every available financial resource when considering the cost of care for the treatment stay. If you are unable to make financial arrangements for your loved one, our caring Admissions Counselors are happy to walk you through other options to make sure your loved one receives treatment.
The total fee for alcohol and drug rehab treatment at New Directions for Women is based upon each woman’s length of stay, which varies according to the severity of the patient’s illness, progress through the alcohol and drug treatment process, and any ancillary therapeutic services. New Directions for Women has a variety of programs available. All of our options are based on an average length stay of 90 days, which includes 35 days of Primary Care and 55 days of Transitional Care. Financial arrangements must be made prior to admission. As a nonprofit organization, we may be able to offer partial scholarships in combination with private payment for addiction treatment.
In general, our daily rates include room and board, individual, family and group therapy, and education. There may be additional charges for assessments, procedures and certain medications not routinely associated with addiction treatment such as initial medical history and physical examination, psychiatric evaluation, lab studies and prescribed medications. Services provided by third parties such as off-site testing, any additional off-site lab work, emergency room, or dental visits, are billed directly to the patient by those providers. All of our services are internationally accredited by CARF.
The total cost of treatment of New Directions for Women depends on the number of days required to meet addiction treatment goals and objectives.
New Directions for Women tailors each of these programs to the individual woman being treated, and emphasizes responsible recovery for long term sobriety. By addressing the holistic needs of every aspect of our residents’ lives – including spiritual, emotional, physical, social and intellectual – we facilitate their journey in recovery, encouraging them to rejoin their communities as healthy, whole women.

Payment Responsibility
Please be aware that New Directions for Women cannot hold your insurance company responsible for payment of services rendered. An insurance policy is a contract between you and the insurance company. Full payment is expected upon admission to any program unless prior arrangements have been made. Incomplete or delayed financial arrangements can postpone actual admission. To avoid any delay in admission to New Directions for Women, a review of insurance or other payment arrangements is necessary. A New Directions for Women admission counselor will work with patients and their families to make manageable arrangements that will meet their financial obligations.
Please call us with further questions regarding services and the admission process. Our helpline staff is at your service 24 hours a day. Of course, all inquiries are strictly confidential.
Insurance Benefits and Financial Responsibility
Health insurance plans generally do not cover the entire cost of our minimum 30 day program. The average insurance plan will cover 1-2 weeks. New Directions for Women operates out of clinical recommendations for care. Please consult your Admissions Counselor for more information on how to ensure that you or your loved one will be eligible for the entire program. Insurance policies and benefits vary greatly. We will help obtain any relevant information, including a list of allowable benefits on a new patient’s contract.
Employers and insurance agents can also be helpful in answering questions about benefits. Insurance or managed care companies may require concurrent reviews of a patient’s medical care during hospitalization. If medical necessity is approved by the patient’s insurance company, the certification of days will be given a few days stay at a time. Authorization does not guarantee payment by an insurance company.
We will work with the patient’s insurance company to provide the necessary information required in order to review for medical necessity, but it should be noted that New Directions for Women has no control over the outcome of these reviews and such reviews do not guarantee payment by any insurance carrier upon final billing.
