Pregnancy and Addiction to Junk FoodThose that struggle with food addiction may find that, when combined with pregnancy, they are more likely to relapse. According to an article in BoldSky, foods that contain high amounts of salt and/or sugar are more likely to be addictive to the human body. Research has shown that women are more likely to succumb to ‘cravings’ than their male counterparts.

Women who are pregnant and consuming high amounts of junk food because of their struggle with food addiction are more likely to cause harmful effects to their unborn child. This is because the consumption of high levels of salt and sugar can cause stroke, diabetes, or cardiac conditions.

If you are someone who is pregnant and struggling with food addiction there is help available. There are many anonymous groups in your area that can help you food ad-diction.
