Founding Board Member Faith Strong Has Surpassed $3 Million in Donations to New Directions for Women
Yes, that’s her real name and she has truly lived up to it. Faith Strong has been the guiding light for New Directions for Women, a 30-bed chemical dependency treatment facility in Costa Mesa since 1977. A founding board member of the non-profit organization, Strong has donated more than three million dollars to New Directions for Women over the past three decades. The monetary donations are just one part of Strong’s contribution of time, talent and treasure to the organization over the years.
Time: Faith Strong was a founding board member of New Directions for women and continues to assist patients to this day. Her philanthropic heart has been passed on to her children, who also know and are involved with New Directions for Women. One of her daughters helped design Repeat Boutique, our thrift shop, and another daughter does mediation training with our clinical staff.
Talent: Recently, Faith conceptualized, edited, and published a book, the Glories of Sobriety, which serves as a gift in perpetuity to New Directions, with all proceeds going to New Directions. Faith has also written a book entitled Distractions, and donates one copy to each patient who comes into the New Directions facility.
Treasure: Faith’s monetary contributions to New Directions for Women have helped keep the doors open for Orange County’s leading chemical dependency treatment facility for women. Thanks to Faith Strong’s strong faith in New Directions, the non-profit treatment center continues to grow and help more and more women who suffer from alcoholism and drug abuse.

Faith Strong’s dedication to fighting the disease of addiction reaches beyond Orange County and into the national and international communities. Strong coordinated the “Creating a Sober World” project, which brought Alcoholics Anonymous to the Soviet Union in 1986.
